Vocal Mixing / Recording – How to set up an Audio Compressor

www.foefivemusic.com to listen to the final mix! A lot of people been asking about the mic settings and compression – so I’ll start with the compressor – mind you – trying to keep it as basic as possible, hopefully to give you a better understanding on how to use it.

      @isreal95 if you mean, like, an extra kind stereo punch on the vocals etc. you need a stereo enhancer plugin, wich is very simple to use. Most DAW’s has one, otherwise google around

      great advice bro… every voice needs its own tweaking, no two man sounds the same, so no two compression/eq setting should be the same either

      @jovocoenn JUST listen to the song with trey songz and fat joe… on the hook his voice sounds like damn its hard to explain but i know that the tracks are paned but when i try it it doesnt sound right

      Just my two cents try this setting in this order use compressor, parametric eq ,lil bit of chorus, reverb and delay for your lead vocal and hooks it will make it sound so much better man make sure to use compressor full force to make the vocals more aggressive try it out man.

      This is the first vocal tutorial – lesson- that actually pointed out how critical the performance is in addition to how important it is to LISTEN. I found this very helpful. 100 engineers – 100 different mixes for sure… To me, the biggest point here is HOW it works… Theoritical. That’s what I wanted. Very cool… Nice n simple.
